The vocabulary of a booking between two flights

Short definitions for the terms that come up between a message sent from the gate and a door closing again before the airport shuttle, written as the house applies them.

  • Outcall

Outcall means the therapist makes the journey to your room, at an airport hotel or in central Amsterdam, since the house keeps no premises of its own.

  • Overnight

An overnight is eight hours of company with one therapist or two, arranged ahead, confirmed with half the fee and suited to a night stop.

  • Deposit

The deposit is the first half of the fee, named in the thread once the hour is agreed and paid before she sets out; every booking at Schiphol carries one.

  • Cancellation and refunds

What is kept on cancellation follows the notice you give: all returned with over a day, half kept inside it, all kept once she has set out.

  • False bookings

A false booking is one placed under a name or number that is not the client’s, or sent as a joke; a missed appointment on its own is not one.

  • Arrival window

In central Amsterdam she arrives forty to sixty minutes after confirmation; at Schiphol the journey time is agreed with you before anything is fixed.

  • Twenty-one or over

Every client must be twenty-one or over, on a layover as anywhere else, and a therapist may ask to see identification at the door before a session begins.

  • Layover

A layover is the time between two flights at Schiphol, but the usable part is what is left after the terminal, the border and the return trip.

  • Transit area

The transit area is the airside zone past security and border control; a visitor cannot enter it, so a session needs a room on the public side.

  • Day room

A day room is a hotel room rented for a few daytime hours rather than a night, common near Schiphol for layovers, with a checkout time that does not bend.

  • Connection time

Connection time is the gap an airline allows between two flights; the minimum it sets is for changing planes, never for leaving the airport and returning.

  • Jet lag

Jet lag is the body clock running on the time zone you left; the direction of travel decides whether a session fits better before sleep or after it.

  • Booking thread

The booking thread is the written conversation where the hour, the therapist, the journey time and the deposit are agreed, in Amsterdam time.

  • Balance on arrival

The balance is the second half of the fee, paid in the room when she arrives, in euros, by card, or in another major currency at a sum confirmed first.
